DENISE BRENNAN
2nd Grade Teacher

Denise Brennan is starting her 20th year in teaching; all of them in the Mineola school district. Denise graduated from Marist College with a BA in English and then spent eight years working in college athletics, the final five as an Assistant Commissioner for Public Relations for the Northeast Conference. Denise also worked at numerous NCAA events, as well as the 1996 Olympics and the 1998 Goodwill Games.

Upon leaving the college athletic world, Denise earned her M.S. in Elementary Education and embarked on a teaching career. She was hired as a third grade teacher in Mineola. After three years in third, Denise moved to Kindergarten and welcomed Mineola’s first full-time Kindergarten students. Denise spent many years in Kindergarten before moving to her current position in second.

Denise took part in the Growth Mindset documentary as a way to challenge herself, and to look at her teaching from a new perspective. The “process” was an arduous yet fulfilling journey and continued Denise on the path of life long learning.

Denise resides in Franklin Square with her husband and three children and can be followed on Twitter @mrs_dbrennan.
